4-H is a youth development program operated through the Cooperative Extension program of the University of California. The program gives youth from ages 6-19 the chance to learn skills and knowledge, meet new friends, and have fun.
The Sacramento Green Acres 4H Cavy project meets monthly. Members play games to learn cavy terminology, practice showmanship, and learn to care for their animals. Emphasis is placed on helping one another to do the best they can. Throughout the year, cavy project members have the opportunity to compete in youth shows and earn ribbons and trophies.
